TUKAN IT is a Polish-owned company, and a vendor of a proprietary, dedicated GREENmod solution — a file and e-mail classification system for enterprises.

GREENmod
Document classification systems enable companies to strengthen their security measures, helping in raising organization employees’ and collaborators’ awareness with regard to data protection and processing issues. The classification process not only allows users to search and retrieve data but forms also a very important part of risk, compliance and security management approach. Thus, the companies can use their categorized documents in more relevant way and protect them appropriately.

Integration with security systems
Tags assigned in the classification process are easily recognized by various solutions which analyze the content and properties of processed information. The classification stored in the document or e-mail message allows DLP and RMS systems or firewalls to enforce an appropriate security policy.
Flexible configuration
The GREENmod solution offers flexible configuration mechanisms, with an option to create custom categories and subcategories, and easy deployment capabilities. The system supports unlimited classification tags than can be individually customized in Outlook and Office suite. A system of suggestions helps users to select appropriate classifications.
Central management and reporting
Tukan GREENmod provides an intuitive management dashboard which enables configuration management and collecting events related to content classification, as well as reporting functions, and agent installation and uninstallation capabilities. In addition, the system makes it possible to monitor the activities of users which are related to document classification and access to protected information.
Forcing document authors to classify documents
Before saving any new document, Tukan GREENmod will display a dialog box in which the user must specify the document’s confidentiality level. Additionally, the system can enforce signing and encrypting messages for selected categories, and even enforce appropriate classification level based on attachment level.
Protection against lowering the classification level
GREENmod protects against lowering the classification level, thus preventing an accidental or purposeful leakage of sensitive information. For example, it is not possible to send an e-mail as public (open) if it contains an attachment with higher (restricted) classification.
Classifying documents created earlier
GREENmod not only enforces the specification of the confidentiality level of new documents, but also makes it possible to classify the ones created before its installation. Upon opening an unclassified document, the system may ask the user to specify the desired protection level.
Flexible distribution methods
The software is distributed to end stations through a dedicated ePolicy Orchestrator management console, or by means of other popular installation methods used by enterprises, such as Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft Active Directory Group Policies (GPO).
